“The days are long but years fly by.” I’ve heard this from many mom friends who have children that are older than Evie. It’s so true days can feel endless at times, yet the fact I’m already thinking about her upcoming first birthday is a mystery. How did my baby grow up so quickly?! I can’t believe that my baby will be a toddler before I know it.
Since the last Evie/life update she has become really good at standing on, well, everything. She started “cruising” too, so going from one place to another but still holding on. I used to spot friends working out at the gym. Now I spend my days spotting my daughter. Like, all. day. long. I feel fortunate she’s not as curious as she could be, and for some *thank you God* reason has not felt the need to explore the stairs. She still makes me nervous though. Soon enough she’ll be walking and it’ll be even more dangerous! It’s exciting and terrifying at the same time. She’s started getting better at pushing around her little walker by Fisher Price, pictured below. By the way, this is a Zebra walker. That was news to me I thought it was a cow. We’ll see how long it takes until she’s doing it unassisted!
Evie had her first Easter which was so much fun. I loved dressing her up in the sweetest little hat and dress, both from H&M. Her shoes were from United Colors of Benneton. We went to brunch at the beautiful Trumps Golf Course restaurant where there was a huge (I mean, huge) buffet and an easter egg hunt. I’m looking forward to Evie participating in that next year! If your wondering what she’s eating (below), that’s poached salmon and caviar. I really hope she doesn’t expect this often!
We went to Spring Family Fest last weekend put on my Club Momme (now also a part of Mom.me), which was so much fun!!! It’s great for connecting moms, dads, and families. Evie loved playing in the balls and watching the musical entertainment. She was only 4 months old for Fall Family Fest, so it was great to see her get to enjoy this one. I connected with some great brands, some I already know and love and others that were new to me. My favorite was Cheeky Home, which I will most definitely have at Evie’s first birthday party! They have the cutest party plates, cups, napkins, and more. And for every purchase they donate a meal to someone in need right here in the USA (and can be found and where else but the amazing Target). We also got to drop off Evie’s stroller when we arrived for a complimentary cleaning! Ergo Baby was nice enough to loan us a carrier while we walked around with her checking out the different tables full of fun baby products.
I also had my first plane trip away from Evie! I flew to San Jose for a friends baby shower. I was only gone for 24 hours, but it was a trip nonetheless! The baby shower was in honor of the same friend whose wedding we were trying to get to when this happened. So I was very excited to celebrate her on another special occassion especially because I wasn’t able to before. It was so much fun I’m really glad I went! It’s not easy to leave her but once I was gone I could have probably been fine another day or two!!! It was a nice break! And I’m a repeat offender with my white jeans 😉
It’s definitely the season for showers because we went to another one a couple days ago, but this time together. Evie got to see her best friend Ava. They’re so cute together! And how beautiful was the dessert table?!
It’s been exactly one year since my baby shower. It does feel like a lifetime ago now. A lot can happen in a year!!!
So that’s what’s up with us lately, and I’m sure you’ve seen what we’ve been eating lately on Instagram!
