I’m surprised I haven’t announced this sooner, but I’m excited to say that I started the Institute for Integrative Nutrition this past May and am loving it. I looked into the program over five years ago, but to make a long story short, it wasn’t time yet. I had a few other things to tackle, but I truly believe that life plays out the way it was intended, so here I am. I have to say in the few short months I’ve been a part of the program, I have grown tremendously. It’s funny how when you’re following your dreams and doing what it is you’re passionate about, happiness levels go through the roof. And that is a part of the mentality of a health coach and what they are there to help you do; to fulfill your goals. And it works.
And while I sit back here behind the scenes loving what I’m learning, I am exhausting all areas I could specialize in as I move closer to offering my coaching services. I felt that I could not share something like this because, well, I wanted to be a professional. But who says I’m not professional by reaching out to my audience for guidance?! I love all things health and wellness related, so it’s difficult to create an edited version of a field that is so broad and the fear of not reaching people I feel could really benefit. But the truth is when, we hone in on a specific audience, more people will be helped, even though doesn’t feel that way! I want to concentrate on areas that are not only needed but where my clients will feel I’m most helpful. I do have some ideas, such as women’s issues (super broad, I know!) but some specifics such as pre-wedding weight loss, confidence and body-image issues, quick, easy ways to stay healthy working full-time, and fertility foods and support. I have been gluten intolerant for over 12 years, so that is definitely an area that comes second nature to me! As I continue in my professional practice, I am sure some certain areas will become of more interest , such as when I have children.
But for right now, I would love it if you, the reader, would comment below if you have any input for me! If you have followed my pages on social media and this blog, you may see something I don’t. Sometimes we are unable to recognize our own strengths while they’re clear as day to someone else. Even if you have areas you think are too ignored in general and you would like to see more of, I’m open! Thanks so much!!! Your opinion matters!!!
